Writing a memoir is for anyone who has a journey story to share, one of transcendence, growth, and enlightenment. This course will introduce you to what a memoir is: a story of something you know after something you've been through. A memoir is about *something* and you are the illustration. It is finding the universal in the unique. You will learn how to find the theme (thesis) of your memoir, balance recall and reflection, and answer the questions, "Who am I writing this for and why?" Taught by acclaimed author Trish Lockard of Strike the Write Tone, this course will equip you with the tools to create your own compelling memoirs. Note: This course focuses on memoir, not autobiography or legacy stories.

Instructor Sally Keil brings history vividly to life for her students. She worked with Philippa Langley and her Missing Princes Project to scour libraries and archives for any clues to what happened to the two sons of King Edward IV, one of history’s great mysteries. She also formed ‘The Missing Princes in America’ project, and participated in the search for the remains of King Richard III, finally found under a parking lot in Leicester England.
