    Discover the edible and medicinal treasures of Appalachia! This beginner-friendly, six-session course teaches you to safely identify, harvest, and use wild plants and mushrooms. You'll explore the region's rich foraging history, learn to recognize edible plants for herbal teas and natural remedies, master safe mushroom identification techniques, and discover traditional Appalachian mountain remedies. The course includes a show-and-tell session where students share their finds and an optional guided nature walk. Your instructor is an experienced foraging professional who has managed foraging operations for an organic farm and taught at renowned nature education institutes. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity! $10 materials fee.
