From Fleece to Fabulous is a hands-on introduction to the art and technique of transforming wool into functional and decorative textiles. Students will explore different types of wool, learn the essentials of wet felting and needle felting, and discover the unique beauty of nuno felting, where wool bonds with silk to create lightweight, textured fabric. Through guided practice and individualized support, participants will build skills each session and complete a nuno-felted art scarf as their final project. This course is suitable for beginners and for those with some fiber experience who want a deeper understanding of how wool behaves. All tools will be provided; students may bring optional personal fibers or silk if they wish to incorporate unique colors or textures into their work. Students may get wet. Some standing and physical activity is necessary, though we can help one another with tasks. This class includes an extensive set of materials that are covered in the course fee.

Jump-start your holiday spirit with this two-hour workshop that's perfect for an afternoon out with friends, or for coming alone and leaving with new friends. Materials will be provided for you to design and embellish a 16” synthetic holiday wreath, or you may bring materials you have gathered or purchased that are specific to the design you want. Bring home your custom wreath right in time to decorate for the holidays! 

English Paper Piecing (EPP) is a hand-sewing technique that uses paper templates to create precise shapes and patterns without a sewing machine. In this introductory class, students will learn the fundamentals of English paper piecing, including fabric preparation, basting methods, and hand stitching techniques commonly used in modern quilting. This portable and beginner-friendly method is ideal for anyone interested in hand sewing, quilting, or creative textile work.

Materials fee: $10 materials payable to the instructor. Includes paper templates, a hand-sewing needle, glue stick, printed instructional materials, and use of shared classroom supplies including hand sewing thread. Students will take home their needle, paper templates, and glue stick to continue practicing after class.

Students Must Bring

· Assorted quilting cotton fabrics (6–10 fabrics recommended). Small scraps, charm squares, fat quarters, or fabric from a coordinated collection all work well. Fabric pieces should be at least 5” × 5” to accommodate the 2” hexagon templates used in class.

· Fabric scissors

Optional Supplies: Rotary cutter, ruler, and small cutting mat; Fabric marking; thimble, thread snips, reading glasses or task lighting, if needed

Limited shared cutting and marking tools will be available for students who do not have their own. Bringing personal tools is recommended to maximize hands-on time during class.

Give your favorite jeans a second life with visible mending. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to repair holes using patching and hand stitching techniques that are both durable and visually striking. This technique-focused session introduces the essential tools, stitches, and design choices behind modern mending. Students will complete one repair in class and leave with the skills and confidence to continue mending at home.

Project Scope & Fabric Guidance

This class focuses on repairing worn or torn areas in denim, such as holes at the knees or other high-stress areas. We will use patching and hand-stitching techniques to stabilize and reinforce these types of repairs.

The techniques taught are best suited for sturdy woven fabrics like jeans. Heavier fabrics such as canvas or khaki may also work, but this class is not designed for knit fabrics or delicate materials such as silk or wool.

This class does not cover zipper replacement, pocket repair, or seam reconstruction.

Materials fee: $5 payable to the instructor. Includes Denim patches, Big eye embroidery or sashiko needle, Shared supplies for student use in class: straight pins, cardboard supports, back up supplies

Student Must Bring

· One pair of jeans (washed) with a hole or worn area (approximately 3” or smaller recommended)

· Small scissors or thread snips

· Neutral or contrasting embroidery or sashiko thread (You can find my favorite brand Daruma sashiko thread in many colors on Amazon.)

· Optional but recommended: thimble
